Huawei nova 12 Pro and Ultra will have 50 MP main camera with variable aperture

Huawei will launch the Nova 12 series on December 26 with a refreshed design. Now a new report from the leakster digital chat station sheds more light on the camera sensors.

According to the information, the nova 12 Pro and nova 12 Ultra will use a 50 MP sensor with a variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture, which is seen in several Huawei smartphones including the nova 11 Ultra, P60 Pro flagship and Mate 60 series.

There will be two selfie cameras – a main 60MP one, possibly with an ultrawide lens for taking whole group shots. There will also be an 8 MP secondary cam. It sounds like the same setup as the Nova 11 Pro and Ultra, but this time the digital chat station says the second shooter will be a proper 2x telephoto lens.

The display will be “1.5K” which is a marketing term used by Chinese manufacturers for 1220p screens. The leakster notes that there will no longer be a periscope shooter – the Nova series is all about selfies, and the two cameras will be hidden behind a pill-shaped punch hole.
